Overview
We seek to promote interdisciplinary approaches, a strategy that has contributed immensely to many of our students’ achievements. As part of our philosophy in effecting positive change through excellent teaching and learning pedagogy, our programmes have been specifically designed to promote an authentic learning environment, combining innovative teaching and learning practices with strategic partnerships and research. Students enjoy an environment of dynamic interaction with department staffs aiming at continuously developing their skills. The department has plans to offer postgraduate programmes in the nearest future.

Petroleum Engineering
Overview
UKH offers undergraduate and postgraduate programmes in Petroleum Engineering with a unique curriculum that focuses on crucial aspects of the oil and gas industry, providing graduates with significant career flexibility. The primary aim of the BSc programme in Petroleum Engineering is to produce highly qualified student graduates. Our undergraduate programme prepares the students in the best possible way to start their careers confidently in the oil and gas industry. Our curriculum provides a solid foundation in petroleum engineering fundamentals. Moreover, the programme creates the opportunity for hands-on training, frequent field trips, and internships. As a result, our graduates enter the industry as productive contributors who understand the need to continue learning and improving their skills throughout their careers. Our graduate degree programmes offer coursework at the master’s level to produce skilled future engineers and leaders, and to enhance the capabilities of current practitioners.

Architectural Engineering
Overview
The Programme of BSc in Architectural Engineering aims to graduate architects who are strongly related to local rich heritage, and are able to create attractive built environment that can sustainably communicate with the society and meets the international expectations of the 3rd decade of the 21stcentury.
In this very old part of the world where the first traces of built environment were found, local inhabitants managed to find sustainable ways for survival for thousands of years. UKH program, BSc in Architectural Engineering endeavors to improve the education and training of future architects to enable them to meet the goals of UNESCO / UIA charter for architectural education which concludes that “the role and responsibility of the architect is the improvement of the quality of life through sustainable human settlements”.

Civil Engineering
Overview
Civil engineers are responsible for designing, constructing, and maintaining infrastructure projects such as buildings, bridges, roads, and water systems, ensuring they are safe, efficient, and sustainable for society. The BSc of Civil Engineering Programme at the University of Kurdistan Hewlêr (UKH) is a comprehensive undergraduate degree that provides students with a solid foundation in the field of civil engineering. This programme is designed to equip UKH’s students with the knowledge, skills, and practical experience necessary to tackle the complex challenges of designing, constructing, and maintaining infrastructure projects. Through a combination of theoretical coursework, laboratory experiments, state-of-the-art software, and real-world projects, students will gain a deep understanding of core civil engineering disciplines, including structural engineering, geotechnical engineering, transportation engineering, and water and environmental engineering. They will also develop essential skills in project management, problem-solving, and communication, preparing them for successful careers in the civil engineering industry.
