Overview
Dr. Kadir is an assistant professor in Computer Engineering department since the beginning of the academic journey of the University in 2007. He also played a significant role in the curriculum development for all programmes in the department over the years including a comprehensive undergraduate final year project process with a rich assessment rubric. He has vast experience in teaching different modules and supervised many research works and innovative projects.
Govand’s key research interest is wireless networking and security including enhancements of routing protocols and improving security algorithms for vehicle and sensor ad hoc networks. This extends to developing security application that includes chaining hash, dynamic signature, smart routing algorithms and multi-factor remote authentication.
Govand was a member of postgraduate handbook committees and is the postgraduate programme coordinator, providing guidance to the postgraduate students throughout their MSc thesis process.
