Bland Azad is a Lecturer Assistant in the Department of Civil Engineering at the University of Kurdistan Hewlêr (UKH). He holds a BSc in Civil Engineering and an MSc in Structural Engineering from UKH. His academic and research interests include structural engineering, advanced concrete technologies, bridge health monitoring, BIM applications, and sustainable construction materials.
He completed an international research internship at the I2M Laboratories, University of Bordeaux, France, where he worked on Ultra-High Performance Geopolymer Concrete (UHPGC). He also received specialized training at Aston University in bridge health monitoring technologies and contributed to implementing innovative low-cost monitoring techniques at UKH. He also certifies for completing a training session on NDT for concrete.
