Handav Karwan Mohammed is a UKH student of Petroleum Engineering programme (UG III) who was recently chosen as one of the 100 student participants in the International Petroleum Technology Conference (IPTC) hosted by Aramco in Dhahran, Saudi Arabia.

Hndav is an active student with a proven record in multidisciplinary activities, ranging from volunteering in the organisation of events to his active participation in the Society of Petroleum Engineers (SPE) League of Volunteers, to his employment in UKH’s Career Development Centre (CDC). Hndav is the only Iraqi student who participated in the IPTC between 10th and 14th February 2024.

Founded in 2005, IPTC is the flagship multidisciplinary technical event in the Eastern Hemisphere. The scope of the conference programme and associated industry activities address technology and relevant industry issues that challenge industry specialists and management around the world.

IPTC is sponsored by four industry organisations and societies, the American Association of Petroleum Geologists (AAPG); the European Association of Geoscientists and Engineers (EAGE); the Society of Exploration Geophysicists (SEG); and the Society of Petroleum Engineers (SPE).
