Overview

This Master of Science degree in Artificial Intelligence (MSc-AI) is designed to provide candidates with an insight into all areas of AI, from theories and methodologies of AI to practical programming skills to prepare them to work within the industry. This programme will enable students to develop intelligent machines and systems performing tasks which normally require human intelligence. MSc-AI is designed to help students in the Kurdistan Region to pursue their postgraduate studies by employing advanced and cutting-edge computer technologies. This will eventually prepare them to be leaders in the fields of artificial intelligence and help the Kurdistan region continue to flourish as today many companies are using these technologies to improve their products and services, evaluate their business models, and enhance their decision-making process.

Admission Requirements

• Candidates must have an average of not less than 60 in their bachelor degree.
• English Language Proficiency: 50 in PTE – 6.0 in IELTS -74 in TOEFL iBT or 105 in Duolingo.
• Candidates seeking admission to the degree of MSc-AI at UKH must have a BSc in Computer Science or related fields.
• Good working experience and research publications can also play a significant role in the process.
• A diagnostic test in the school will be conducted to select those with the highest scores.
• Equalised transcript is required for students who have graduated from international institutions.
• Note! Applicants dismissed for any reason from any university, school or college will not be considered.

Curriculum

The MSc-AI modules list includes Natural Language Processing, Vision Computing, Advanced Robotics, AI Research and Ethics, Advanced AI, Real Time Signal Processing, Automatic Speech Recognition, Machine Learning, and a PG Dissertation.

 

Skills Development

This MSc-AI is a specialised postgraduate programme designed to equip students with advanced knowledge and skills in the field of artificial intelligence. The programme will enable students to undertake a research project that makes up a considerable part of the overall assessment. The students will be capable to choose a research subject and develop a proposal to work on. In addition, other skills such as learning how to take initiative and taking responsibility, solve problems in creative and innovative ways, continue to learn independently, and to develop professional capacity will be practiced.
