Overview
Dr. Jawdat Tashan completed his PhD at Swinburne University of Technology, Melbourne, Australia. He worked as an Associate Professor of Structural Engineering in the Faculty of Civil Engineering at Metro College of Technology, Toronto, Canada. At the same time, he served as the Dean of Academic Affairs of the college. In 2022, Dr. Tashan joined the UKH Department of Civil and Architectural Engineering.
Dr. Tashan held teaching and research roles at the universities of Monash and Swinburne in Australia. His research focuses on structural strength evaluation, nanotechnology, and retrofitting using innovative composite materials. Dr. Tashan has published many technical papers in international journals and conferences. During his academic career, he has received numerous performance awards.
Dr. Tashan has vast experience in engineering construction, consultation, and design. He designed and managed over twenty technical megaprojects with success. Notable award for executing projects (US$ 1 Billion) on budget, on time, and having satisfied the objectives of all stakeholders
