On Thursday, January 9th 2020, KRG’s Minister of
Higher Education and Scientific Research, Dr. Aram Mohamed announced his
ministry’s ranking list of public and private universities in the Kurdistan
Region for 2019.
Having topped the public universities ranking list in 2018,
the University of Kurdistan maintained the top position for 2019, categorized
within Group B.
“Under the vision of the President of the Kurdistan Region
and the Founder of the university, UKH is home to the leaders of tomorrow,”
said Idris Nechirvan Barzani, the Chancellor of the University of Kurdistan.
Established in 2006, the University of Kurdistan is an independent
public university and it is the first English medium public university in the
Kurdistan Region. Since its establishment, the university have awarded 1280
undergraduate and postgraduate degrees in the fields of Social Sciences,
Business and Administration, Computer Science, and Natural Resources Engineering.
The University of Kurdistan is well known for its advanced
curriculum, research quality, international relations and student life. Most
