On Sunday 16 July 2023, the School of Medicine (SOM) organised an induction day for senior medical students before the start of the new academic year.
Led by Dr. Teshk Shawis, the Dean of SOM, the programme included overview of the academic year for our undergraduate level VI (UGVI) students and what to expect in their last year of study at SOM. It also included Discussion on various assessments, including written exams, OSCE (Objective Structured Clinical Examination), and Portfolios. Additionally, the programme also covered the explanation of formative and summative assessments as well as highlighting the importance of the portfolio.
SOM is one of the distinguished medical schools in the country and offers undergraduate degrees in Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS), Pharmacy and a postgraduate degree in Medical Education.
