We are thrilled to announce that Dr. Dana Mawlood, professor of water and environmental engineering and UKH Vice President, as well as Noor Khalid Yashooa, environmental engineer at UKH Centre for Environmental Studies (CES) are appointed as members of the Baghdad-Erbil Joint Task Force Team.

The decree which was issued by the office of the Prime Minister of Iraq, His Excellency Mohammed Shia al-Sudani, has also appointed Dr. Turhan al-Mufti as the head of the task force. The task force has been designated to conduct detailed research on subsurface and underground water resources in Iraq.

It is worth mentioning that this appointment comes right after the successful conclusion of UKH’s international symposium held on 11th and 12th May 2024, titled “Drought and the Impact of Climate Change on the Political, Economic and Demographic Situation of Iraq”. The symposium was organised in partnership between UKH-CES,  Centre Français de Recherche sur l’Irak (CFRI ), Bahr Alolom Forum, and powered by Vision Education.
