Around 30 UKH academic staff are preparing to become fellows of the AdvanceHE Academy, the UK’s professional body for university teachers. UKH became an AdvanceHE member institution in October as part of its mission to create the best student academic experience through the international professional standards of its staff. UKH academic staff are currently engaged in training by higher education experts from AdvanceHE to standardize best teaching approaches in their respective fields.
Founded in 2006, UKH has nine departments and teaches nearly 1,500 students in its 31 programmes. It has four research centres. The University is a key enabler for the Kurdistan Regional Government in developing the region through the provision of excellence in researching and teaching.
