On Monday 2nd December 2024, the University of Kurdistan Hewlêr (UKH), The French Embassy in Iraq, The French Consulate General in Erbil and The French Institute in Erbil officially inaugurated the French Corner in UKH Library. The ceremony was marked by the presence of many diplomats, dignitaries, students and faculty members.
The ceremony kicked off by opening remarks from UKH Vice President (Administration) Prof. Dr. Dana Mawlood, followed by a speech from UKH President Prof. Dr. Keith Sharp and the French Consul General in Erbil Mr. Yann Braem who took the stage to deliver their remarks to celebrate the opening of this first French Corner space in the Kurdistan Region of Iraq.
