Qahhar has a PhD in Computer Systems Engineering from the University of Southern Queensland, Australia. In 2005, he migrated to Australia on skilled-independent visa. He has more than 15 years tertiary teaching experience and 10 years industrial experience in communications, computer system engineering and computer networking in Kurdistan, Australia, Malaysia and Singapore.
Mr Qadir has a number of professional certificates including
the Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP), Cisco Certified Network
Associate (CCNA), Microsoft Certified System Engineer (MCSE), Microsoft
Certified System Administrator (MCSA). He also holds certificate in
E-Government from the Maastricht School of Management and is the Certified Cisco Systems Instructor (CCSI).
Qahhar is the solo or first author of IEEE Transactions, IEEE journals and IEEE Letters. He is reviewing for IEEE and an organising committee of the International Telecommunication Networks and Applications Conference ITNAC and a technical program committee for a number of International conferences.
He is the recipient of a number of international scholarships such as APA from Australia, MENA from the Netherlands, IRPA from Malaysia, and a member of IEEE, Engineers Australia, Australian Computer Society (ACS), Engineers Canada and Kurdistan Engineers Union.
