Prof. Keith Sharp
President
Overview
Keith Sharp became President of UKH in October 2022, having previously served as Vice President for Academic Affairs and Research. He was previously Founding President of the British University of Bahrain and, before moving to the Middle East, was Director of International Programmes at the London School of Economics. He has also served as Dean of the Faculty of Education Humanities and Sciences and Associate Pro Vice Chancellor at the University of Gloucestershire in the UK.
Keith is a sociologist and holds a first class degree from the London School of Economics and a PhD from the University of Edinburgh. He has undertaken research and published in several areas, including social theory, digitalisation and identity, qualitative research methods and higher education policy. He has a long-standing interest in quality assurance in higher education having served as an auditor for the Quality Assurance Agency in the UK and as Chair of reviews for the Oman Academic Accreditation Agency.
