On June 14 2023, the American Corner Erbil in the library of the University of Kurdistan Hewlêr (UKH), in collaboration with General U.S. Consulate Erbil has managed a book launch event for Dr. Choman Hardi. Her debut novel, WHISPERING WALLS, launches on the 20th anniversary of the invasion of Iraq.
British-Kurdish writer, Choman Hardi, draws on real-life and historical events for her debut novel documenting a Kurdish family’s struggles during the 2003 US invasion of Iraq. Hardi’s debut novel, WHISPERING WALLS, launches on the 20th anniversary of the invasion of Iraq.
The ceremony was attended by the US Consul General in Erbil Irvin Hicks, UK Consul General in Erbil Rosy Cave, local authors, university professors, UKH students and staff.
