MSc in Accounting and Finance
Overview
The MSc in Accounting and Finance (MBF) is a 180-credit degree programme, delivered in four semesters over two academic years (AY), predominantly in the form of taught modules worth 20 credits each. Three modules are delivered in each Semester of AY1. A 20-crtedit Business Research Methods module is taught in Semester 2 of AY2, followed by a supervised 40-credit Dissertation in Semester 2 of AY2.
Typically, the first AY of the programme are devoted to concepts and theories, mixed with the development of practical and applied skills, utilizing social formats such as discussions, debates, negotiations and presentations. The following AY is devoted to developing research skills, aiming to expose students to critical thinking, real-world practical experience and developing the required knowledge and skills to success in the workforce. In the final year, students are required to develop a research proposal in Semester 1 and write a 15,000-word Dissertation in Semester 2.
Admission Requirements
- Undergraduate Degree: Minimum undergraduate average of 60% in Accounting and/or Finance or related field of study that has 80% similarity of contents with Accounting and/Finance subject area.
- English Language Proficiency: Minimum English Language requirement is 50 in PTE – 6.0 in IELTS -74 in TOEFL iBT or 105 in Duolingo.
- Preference is given to applicants with working experience.
- Equalised transcript is required for students who have graduated from international institutions/universities.
- Applicants dismissed for any reason from any university, school or college will not be considered.

- Official Transcripts: Copy of the undergraduate transcript.
- Letters of Recommendation: Two recommendation letters, preferably one of which will be from a university academic.
- A copy of the applicant’s passport/ID.

Programme aims
This programme aims to equip students with the 21st century competencies, skills, knowledge, and integrated understanding required in accounting and finance-related environments. Aiming to prepare students for leadership and/or managerial roles, the programme emphasises on bridging theoretical underpinnings of business with their practical implications. It is a broad-based degree for professional growth rather than training for a narrowly focused specialised area in business.
Skills Development
Upon successful completion of the programme, the students will be able:
