Erbil, Kurdistan Region of Iraq – 22 January 2026
The School of Medicine at the University of Kurdistan Hewlêr (UKH) organised a scientific symposium titled “Rights and Responsibilities of Doctors in the Kurdistan Region” at the SoM Campus, in collaboration with Hewlêr Medical University (HMU) and the Kurdistan Doctors Syndicate.
The symposium opened with remarks by Dr. Teshk Shawis, followed by presentations from Dr. Shwan Abdulqadr, Dr. Hast K. Ali, and Dr. Zainab, Legal Affairs Representative. The programme concluded with an open discussion session, followed by a coffee break, providing participants with an opportunity to exchange views and insights.
The event brought together academics, medical professionals, and legal experts to discuss key professional, legal, and ethical issues related to medical practice in the Kurdistan Region, reflecting UKH’s commitment to academic collaboration and professional development in the healthcare sector.
