UKH Artificial Intelligence and Innovation Centre (AIIC) participated in the 3rd Iraqi AI Annual Forum in Baghdad on March 2nd, 2025. The forum was opened by Iraqi Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research Dr. Naeem al-Aboudi and Dr. Abas Abakri, President of the University of Information Technology and Communications.

AIIC participated in seven pioneering AI projects in the forum, demonstrating its commitment to advancing artificial intelligence in Iraq and beyond. Among these projects, the AI-Powered Smart Parking Management System, developed by Mr. Muhammad Sabah Ibrahim, Research Assistant at AIIC, secured first place in the highly competitive AI Developer Excellence Award. This achievement highlights UKH AIIC’s dedication to fostering cutting-edge AI research and innovation.

The AI Developer Excellence Award is a national recognition for outstanding contributions in AI applications across various sectors, including education, healthcare, smart cities, and sustainable development.

Prof. Dr. Tarik Rashid, Director of AIIC was a Keynote Speaker at the forum. In his address, Prof. Rashid discussed the transformative role of artificial intelligence (AI) in advancing critical sectors such as healthcare, sustainable innovation, and technological development.

AIIC’s participation in this forum is a testament to its commitment to develop UKH’s research capabilities and the centre’s mission to push the boundaries of AI-driven solutions.
