Studying opportunities, purposes and process in the United States of America was explained to students of the University of Kurdistan Hewlêr (UKH) in an informative workshop delivered by Dr. Shara K. Zheer Nizamaddin, Chair of Biopharma Unit at UKH School of Medicine (SOM) and Director of Student Talent Development Center (STDC).
The aim of the workshop was to familiarise the participants about the purposes and the process of applying for undergraduate and postgraduate programmes in the U.S., as well as exploring study opportunities, scholarships, and exchange programmes.
Dr. Shara explained how the U.S. education system works in respect of colleges, universities, and institutions. She also shed light on the five steps to access opportunities to study in the U.S. universities. Methods of finding scholarships and financial aid, required documentation to apply for a postgraduate degree, the importance of personal statement and study objectives while applying for U.S. universities and institutions.
Finally, she shared her experiences whilst studying in U.S. as Fulbright scholar and IWFF fellow, and how studying abroad helps students achieve their personal and professional goals.
