On Monday February 3rd 2025, the University of Kurdistan Hewlêr (UKH) hosted the Futtalks Erbil, a prestigious youth-focused event organised as part of the Nurturing Future Makers project.
The event kicked off by signing a memorandum of understanding between UKH and the Future Makers Foundation, signed by UKH Vice President (Administration) Prof. Dr. Dana Mawlood and Mr. San Kamaran, Director of Future Makers Foundation (FMF). The MoU lays the foundation for further cooperation on youth empowerment in the future.
Later, inspirational speeches from influential speakers who took the stage and delivered empowering remarks to a full house. Dr. Ruwayda Mustafa, Mr. Amanj Amjed, Ms. Rana Kovan, Dr. Aqeel Latif and Student Affairs Director at UKH Mr. Ranjdar Kamaran were the speakers of the event, as well as an insightful presentation “futpro” delivered by Ms. Dalya Fathi.
The event was concluded by an outstanding performance from the Rwanga Music Team. The speeches included technology, youth empowerment and perceiving AI as an opportunity to make a positive difference in the Kurdistan region, Iraq and beyond.
Futtalks is being implemented by the FMF in collaboration with the Supreme Youth Council, under the patronage of the office of Iraq Prime Minister, His Excellency Mohammed Shia’ Al-Sudani. Each of Rudaw Media Network and Toyota Iraq are partners of the Futtalks.
This initiative aims to engage, inspire, and empower Iraq’s and Kurdistan Region’s future leaders through meaningful discussions on emerging challenges and opportunities.
