Prof. Tarik A. Rashid, Director of the Artificial Intelligence and Innovation Centre (AIIC) at the University of Kurdistan Hewlêr (UKH), was a keynote speaker at the Joint Symposium on “AI and Its Effects on Higher Education and How We Can Adapt to It.”
The symposium, jointly organised by Duhok Polytechnic University and hosted at the Catholic Unviersity Erbil (CUE) campus, took place on February 25th, 2025, bringing together AI experts, educators, and researchers to discuss the evolving role of artificial intelligence in academia.
In his keynote address, Prof. Rashid emphasized the transformative impact of AI on higher education, highlighting the challenges and opportunities that institutions must navigate. He provided insights on how universities can adapt curricula, enhance learning experiences, and integrate AI-driven methodologies to prepare students for the future.
The event featured engaging panel discussions and presentations, fostering collaboration between academia and industry. Faculty members and students from UKH were invited to participate, reflecting the commitment of AIIC to driving knowledge exchange and innovation in the region.
