We are proud to announce that two of our academic staff members have achieved the prestigious Principal Fellowship status from Advance HE – a significant milestone in their academic and professional journey.
Prof. Tarik Ahmed Rashid, Professor in Computer Science and Artificial Intelligence, and Prof. Taimur Sharif, Dean of UKH School of Management and Economics recently achieved the status of Principal Fellow.
Principal Fellowship is one of the highest honours awarded by Advance HE and is a recognition of a distinguished level of leadership in higher education. It acknowledges individuals who have demonstrated sustained and strategic impact on teaching and learning, not just within their own institutions but across the wider academic community. Achieving Principal Fellowship requires a profound commitment to the Professional Standards Framework, showing leadership in promoting and embedding excellent teaching and learning practices.
This remarkable achievement not only celebrates the dedication of our academic staff but also highlights the success of UKH’s strategic partnership with Advance HE.
Since 2022, UKH has been working to enhance teaching methods and learning strategies through this collaboration, and as a result, over 30 of our academic staff have been awarded fellowships across various categories, including Associate Fellowship, Fellowship, Senior Fellowship, and Principal Fellowship.
Prof. Keith Sharp, UKH President said, “This is an important step in the UKH’s work to gain recognition for teaching excellence and to support and motivate our staff to deliver an outstanding student academic experience.”
We are excited to continue fostering teaching excellence at UKH through this partnership with Advance HE, as we work together to provide internationally recognized standards for higher education and support the professional development of our staff.
