Souzan Hussain Eassa, BVM&S, MSc, PhD

Introduction

Dr. Souzan Eassa is an Assistant Professor of Immunoparasitology at the School of Medicine, University of Kurdistan Hewlêr (UKH). Dr. Eassa worked researcher in the field of molecular biology at the UALR, USA. Her academic career spans both undergraduate and postgraduate teaching in preclinical sciences, and she has been serving at UKH since 2021. She has been involved in quality assurance and accreditation processes for MBBS programmes across several Iraqi medical colleges, contributing to their alignment with the standards of the WFME. She has also played a key role in establishing and developing the Medical Education Department within the School of Medicine at UKH. She is a Fellow of Health Security Partners (USA) and a member of the National Council for Accreditation of Medical Colleges in Iraq.

Dr. Eassa has authored over 35 publications focused on preclinical sciences and has contributed to book chapters in scientific texts. Her research interests span immunoparasitology, infectious diseases, and molecular diagnostics.
