On January 21, 2025, a memorandum of understanding was signed between the University of Kurdistan Hewler (UKH) Artificial Intelligence and Innovation Centre (AIIC) and the Kurdish Academy by UKH President Professor Dr. Keith Sharp, and Mr. Hama Saeed Hassan, President of the Kurdish Academy.

UKH-AIIC will play a pivotal role in utilizing advanced artificial intelligence technologies to analyze, preserve, and promote the Kurdish language. Through its expertise in machine learning, natural language processing, and digital innovation, AIIC will develop tools and frameworks for Kurdish language research and education.

The Kurdish Academy, as a leading institution for the study and preservation of Kurdish culture and language, will provide its scholarly resources, linguistic expertise, and cultural insights to guide the research. Together, they aim to create a robust partnership to advance Kurdish language studies, enabling innovative research and practical applications that benefit academia and society.
