Erbil, Kurdistan Region of Iraq – 30 April 2026
The Civil Engineering Department proudly organized a successful site visit to the Manhattan Project in Erbil, with the active participation of both Undergraduate (UG) and Postgraduate (PG) students.
The visit provided an outstanding Project-Based Learning (PBL) opportunity, enabling students to bridge theoretical knowledge with real-world engineering practice. UG students explored key aspects of civil engineering applications, including concrete materials technology, structural design, foundation design, building construction techniques, and civil engineering drawings.
Our PG students from the Structural Engineering Programme engaged at a more advanced technical level, examining sophisticated structural systems and advanced concrete design applications using state-of-the-art engineering software and analytical skills.
The visit was supervised and supported by the full academic family of the department, reflecting our commitment to experiential learning, industry engagement, and preparing future engineers with both practical insight and advanced technical expertise.
