As part of the University of Kurdistan Hewlêr (UKH)’s programmes and activities supporting students and youth in the fields of entrepreneurship and innovation, the Global Entrepreneurship Week event was organised at the University of Kurdistan Hewlêr (UKH) in coordination with the Global Entrepreneurship Network.
The event included three panel discussions under the following titles:
- Panel A: Creating an Enabling Environment for Entrepreneurship
- Panel B: Financing Constraints and Practical Solutions
- Panel C: Lessons from the field – Established Founder
The programme also featured success stories from University of Kurdistan Hewlêr (UKH) alumni, highlighting their entrepreneurial journeys and the ways in which the University of Kurdistan Hewlêr (UKH) supported them to become successful role models within the community:

The event further featured keynote speeches by Dr. Zana Ibrahim, Interim President of the University of Kurdistan Hewlêr (UKH), and Dr. Heja Sindi, Member of the Board of Governors of the University of Kurdistan Hewlêr (UKH), followed by insightful discussions on the challenges and opportunities facing entrepreneurs in the Kurdistan Region and Iraq.
The aim of organising such activities is to create opportunities and encourage young people and students to establish new, modern ventures that contribute directly to economic development in the Kurdistan Region.
