Rawand Darwesh is a public relations and communications adviser at the Presidency of the Kurdistan Region, with extensive experience in policy communication, stakeholder engagement, and strategic outreach. He previously worked for the Kurdistan Regional Government’s Department of Foreign Relations, the Rwanga Foundation, and in the private sector. He specializes in building strong relationships between institutions and the public, ensuring clear and effective communication around complex issues.

With a background in diplomatic communication and analytical insight, Rawand brings a collaborative and culturally aware approach to every project. He is passionate about fostering transparent dialogue and shaping public understanding through impactful communication strategies.

He holds an MA in Journalism and Public Affairs from American University in Washington, DC, as a Fulbright Scholar, and a BA in English Language and Literature from the University of Salahaddin-Erbil. Rawand was appointed Secretary to the UKH Board of Governors in October 2025.
