Erbil, Kurdistan Region – 08 October 2026 – The University of Kurdistan Hewlêr (UKH) welcomed H.E. Emmanuel Mignot, Consul General of France in the Kurdistan Region, accompanied by Mr. Alexandre Khouri, Director of the French Institute, and Ms. Pauline Lapointe, Attachée for Higher Education and Scientific Research.
The delegation was received by Dr. Zana Ibrahim, President of UKH, Dr. Christopher Bridle, Vice President for Academic Affairs, and Ms. Noor Jasim, Manager of Public Relations and External Engagement.
The meeting explored opportunities to further strengthen ties between UKH, the French Consulate General, the French Institute, and universities across France, with a focus on academic partnerships, student and faculty exchange, research, and joint initiatives.
The discussions also highlighted UKH’s ongoing exchange programmes and academic engagement with French institutions, as well as the range of cultural and educational activities jointly organised through the French Corner at UKH.
UKH values its growing academic and cultural engagement with France and looks forward to further expanding opportunities for collaboration, exchange, and knowledge-sharing.
