Erbil, Kurdistan Region of Iraq – 5 June 2026
On World Environment Day, the Centre for Environmental Studies at the University of Kurdistan Hewlêr (UKH), in collaboration with volunteer students, organised an awareness campaign promoting recycling and reuse practices.
As part of the initiative, participants engaged with members of the public to highlight the importance of reducing waste and adopting environmentally responsible habits.
The event also featured a clean-up campaign across areas of Hewlêr, aimed at raising environmental awareness and encouraging the community to contribute to a cleaner and more sustainable environment.
The initiative reflects UKH’s ongoing commitment to environmental stewardship, sustainability, and community engagement.
