Erbil, Kurdistan Region of Iraq – 13 February 2026
The University of Kurdistan Hewlêr hosted the 4th Medical Kurdistan International Conference in Erbil from 11–13 February 2026 under the title “Quality of Medical Education at the Service of Local Population.”
The conference brought together local and international researchers, academics, and medical specialists to discuss developments in healthcare education and medical services.
The conference witnessed participation from researchers and academics representing several countries, including the United States, Lebanon, United Arab Emirates, Iran, Germany, and Tunisia, reflecting the conference’s growing international academic and scientific engagement.
The conference featured 70 scientific presentations delivered across 23 sessions, including keynote speaker sessions addressing key developments in medical education and healthcare systems. The programme also included 21 workshops and symposium sessions, providing practical and academic engagement opportunities for participants.
In addition, the conference showcased 30 oral research presentations and 26 poster presentations, highlighting current research findings and innovative medical approaches.
The event focused on improving the quality of medical education, strengthening research cooperation, and addressing key challenges facing healthcare systems. Participants presented research papers and shared expertise on modern medical practices, public health challenges, and innovative healthcare solutions.
The conference forms part of ongoing efforts to strengthen medical research and academic collaboration in the Kurdistan Region and support the development of healthcare services through knowledge exchange and international partnership.
