Payam Azeez Hussein is an Assistant Lecturer in the English Language Center at the University of Kurdistan Hewlêr. She has been with the university since 2023. Payam has extensive experience teaching English for Academic Purposes (EAP), English for Specific Purposes (ESP), Business English, and General English Language Development modules. She is committed to fostering student-centered learning environments that encourage critical thinking, intercultural awareness, and effective communication skills.

Research
Payam’s research interests focus on multilingualism, identity, language varieties, World Englishes, and sociolinguistics. Her work explores how language functions in multilingual contexts, particularly in educational and professional settings, with a strong emphasis on the role of English as a global language. In addition, Payam actively seeks opportunities to collaborate on research projects related to language education and sociolinguistic phenomena with a particular focus on the Kurdish context.
