Lesley A T Gaj, FHEA MCILIP

Introduction

A Chartered Librarian of over 35 years’ experience, a graduate of Leeds Polytechnic (BA Librarianship, 1985) and the British Library Association (Chartership (MA), 1987).Lesley worked in a variety of libraries – academic, prison and public in Britain before joining the University of Kurdistan Hewlêr in October 2007, initially as Cataloguing Librarian.Her specialist areas are

• Cataloguing and classification
• Library management
• Quality assurance
• Staff training and development

Developing and improving services to provide customers with a high standard of service, whilst valuing the individuality of each customer and staff member, are the tenets to which she works. Lesley’s aim is to enable customers through improved systems and services to access resources they need and so enhance their skills and knowledge across a range of areas.
