Assistant Lecturer in Architecture Engineering and Sustainability
Introduction
Lara Basheer is an Assistant Lecturer in the Architectural Engineering and Sustainability Programme at the University of Kurdistan Hewlêr (UKH). She holds an MSc in Architecture and Environmental Sustainability from Salahaddin University, with research focusing on biophilic design, connection with nature, and users’ satisfaction in the built environment. Her research has been published in the field of sustainable and user-centred architecture.
Her professional experience spans architecture, design, and strategic communications, including several years with the International Organization for Migration (IOM) in Iraq. At UKH, she teaches architectural design, sustainability, and computer graphics. Her current research explores the integration of Artificial Intelligence as a pedagogical tool to enhance teaching quality, support creative learning, and improve learning outcomes in creativity-centred disciplines, particularly architecture and design
