Bootan Mohammed Rahman, PhD

Introduction

Bootan Rahman is an Assistant Professor of Mathematics at the UKH. He has previously held positions that include, Mathematics Lecturer at the ISC, University of Sussex, an Associate Tutor at the Department of Mathematics/University of Sussex, as well as Assistant Lecturer and Visiting Assistant Lecturer at Salahaddin University-Erbil and Soran University, respectively. In 2022, he was granted the Abel Visiting Scholarship, working as a visiting researcher at the University of Waterloo.

Research

Bootan Rahman’s research revolves around mathematical modeling for biological systems, particularly in neuroscience and epidemiology. He specializes in Delay Differential Equations (DDE) and their role in modeling neural and complex networks. His work focuses on mathematical modeling, and dynamical systems theory, including stability, bifurcations, center manifolds, and normal forms, extending its application to delay differential equations.
