The University of Kurdistan Hewlêr in collaboration with the Erbil General Directorate of Health, Hawler Medical University, and Takvin and Advanced companies, organized the Second Erbil Heart Congress.
The congress brought together government officials, university academics, physicians, and researchers from across the Kurdistan Region and Iraq. The event served as a platform to discuss the latest developments and challenges in cardiovascular medicine, explore innovative approaches to the prevention and treatment of heart diseases, and promote public awareness of the importance of heart health and the risk factors associated with cardiovascular conditions.
During the congress, Dr. Teshk Nouri Shawis, Dean of school of medicine at the University of Kurdistan Hewlêr, delivered a presentation entitled “The Principles of Geriatric Cardiology,” highlighting the unique cardiovascular needs of older adults and emphasizing the importance of specialized approaches to prevention, diagnosis, and treatment in geriatric patients.
