Introduction
Dr. Ali Mohammad Salih is an architect, educator, and researcher currently serving as Programme Director of Architectural Engineering at the University of Kurdistan Hewlêr (UKH).
Ali’s academic work integrates design teaching with performance-based approaches, guiding students to link creative thinking with practical, real-world applications. In addition to his academic role, he has experience in architectural design and project management, contributing to complex, large-scale developments.

Research
• Dr. Ali Muhammed Salih’s research focuses on the relationship between urban form, shading strategies, and their influence on microclimate and indoor air temperatures in hot, dry regions. His recent studies, based on the city of Erbil in Kurdistan, explore how modified residential morphologies can enhance outdoor thermal comfort and improve indoor environmental performance in response to extreme climate conditions.
