Since the fall of the Ba’ath regime, many Iraqi and Iraqi-Kurdish universities have developed Political Science and International Relations programmes to conceptualize political developments in Iraqi-Kurdish and Iraqi politics, as well as in the Middle East and globally. Iraq has also an interesting field of research for international political scientists since 2003.
The Iraq Political Science Day brings together for the first time students, professors and researchers from political science departments from different parts of Iraq to create a space for exchange and discussion. Different research projects of students and instructors will be presented, but also questions of the development of our discipline in the political and academic landscape of Iraq will be discussed. We are looking forward to the presentations in English, Arabic and Kurdish, which will be interpreted simultaneously.
We are proud that for this first Iraq Political Science Day we have brought together a total of seven universities with departments of Political Science and/or International Relations from Baghdad, Erbil and Suleimani and that students and faculty from other universities will also be present as speakers.
