Promoting Science among Religious Community in KRI

More than 50 participants attended a presentation on Promoting Science among Religious Communities in KRI" at the American Corner in Erbil on July 11, 2018. It was presented by Mr Hawkar Ali Abdulhaq, Author of “Westgey X: The History of Life Between Science and Religion”.
Mr. Abdulhaq examined the importance of promoting science and its effect on providing solutions and cures to many problems in KRI. During the presentation he emphasized on the origin of conflicts between religion and science in the region. He also presented many helpful methods to promote science among religious communities, including: the deduction of religion, selective science (only choosing from science what matches with religion) and highlighting common grounds between science and religion while presenting the consequences of each method. He concluded his presentation by focusing on the importance of finding a common ground between science and religion to promote science among the religious communities. The session ended with an insightful question and answer session.
