Join us in a virtual session to gain information about the history, culture, geography, and people of the
State of New Mexico, and get a chance to chat with a member of the U.S. foreign service!
The speaker of this program will be Ms. Lisa Podolny, the Economic Affairs Chief at U.S. Consulate
General Erbil.
This online program aims to connect local audiences with native Americans to create bridges of
understanding between the two nations.

Speaker’s Bio:
Lisa Podolny is the Economic Affairs Chief at U.S. Consulate Erbil. She joined the Foreign Service in
2011 and has served in Kyiv, Hong Kong, Guangzhou, and Manila. Prior to joining the Foreign Service,
Lisa spent 21 years in the U.S. Air Force as a Chinese Linguist and Intelligence Officer. She earned her
BA in Chinese Language and History from the University of Washington and holds an MA in Strategic
Intelligence from American University and an MS in Project Management from Northeastern University.
Lisa is married with six children and enjoys yoga and running in her spare time
