More details on the session:
When a journalist is asked to cover conflict, whether it is armed conflict or disagreements among communities, he or she will encounter several challenges in gathering and presenting information to the audience. This seminar will provide information on objectivity, balance, and fairness in covering conflict. It will provide an overview on different approaches to covering conflict such as "peace journalism." It will also include a section on how best to serve your audience even in circumstances where they may favor one party to the conflict. It will also offer direction on where to find learning resources for deeper individual exploration, including resources in Arabic.
