ACE is arranging an online session for Ms Tara Shwani the General Secretary and Kareem Dizaye the under-General Secretary of Model UN in Iraq. The session will be about the application process of NMUNA program that recently has been opened to applicants.

About NMUNA:
NMUNA is an independent organization committed to advocating for the values and work of the UN. By establishing a network of like-minded individuals across Kurdistan and Iraq, NMUNA seeks to promote intercultural understanding among people of different ethnicities, religions, and backgrounds. Our Model UN programming promotes the work of the UN in the region and serves as a platform for global engagement. The live session will focus on explaining the goals and previous activities of NMUNA, going over the application process and the recruitment of the delegates and finally we will have Q&A session about the application process.
About the speakers:
Tara Shwani has a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration with a double minor in Economics and Gender Studies. She currently works as a Program Associate at The International Republican Institute (IRI) in Baghdad and a part of her work is to encourage and increase civic engagement and awareness around political participation and voting in the elections. She is always keen to change the perspective of the youth, especially females, on the latter by encouraging community and youth engagement in such profound matters in the society.
Kareem Dizaye is a Law student at the American University of Iraq, Sulaimani. He is an IYLEP alumnus and has worked closely with World Learning to promote leadership and exchange programs. He is interested in education, policy-making, and youth advocacy and has a wide background in civic engagement, and has also represented Iraq and the Kurdistan Region at the United Nations Youth Assembly in the United States
