Masters in Oil and Gas Management

Overview

This unique professional program offers those currently working in the oil and gas sector the opportunity to gain a post-graduate qualification by undertaking a two year Masters in Oil and Gas Management. The program is nested within the Brazi Executive Program under the control of the Vice President of Academic and Research. The program is a joint partnership (50/50) between the School of Science and Engineering (SSE) and the School of Management and Economics (SME). The program will provide better employment opportunities when applying for positions in the oil and gas sector, enhance performance in existing management roles and improve promotion prospects. Applicants with different undergraduate backgrounds may apply for this program on the condition they have at least one (1) year experience in the oil and gas sector. The minimum average grade required from undergraduate level is 60%.


Structure

In the first year of study students will undertake eight (8) coursework modules, four modules in each semester. To progress to the second year of study students must achieve a minimum overall average of 70% for the eight modules, with no modules having a lower pass grade than 60%. In the first year students will study 3-hour modules, usually from 4.30pm to 7.30pm, Sunday to Wednesday. In the second year students undertake a research thesis of around 20,000 words.

  1. Students from any undergraduate background can apply.

     
  2. Minimum undergraduate average grade is 60%.

     

    Note:  Equalized transcript is required for students who have graduated from international institutions.

     
  3. At least one year of professional experience in the oil and gas industry as evidence by a letter of recommendation.

     
  4. Minimum English Language requirement is 50 in PTE or 6 in IELTS or 74 in ibt-TOEFL.

     

    Note: Conditional offer may be given to applicants who submit a Versant English Placement Test of 50 or above. A score of 50 is equivalent to 50 PTE.
