Executive MBA in Business (EMBA)
The Executive MBA is designed to enable managers to a strategic contributions to their organisations across a range of business functions in a fast moving environment. Managers will be able to critically reflect on their own development, evaluate research methods for business challenges, and analyse information when making strategic business choices.

This programme is suitable for experienced managers who are ready to make a strategic contribution but who do not have a formal, or recent business education. As a professional degree, students on this course comprise of graduates from diverse disciplines, and those that are not graduates, have other relevant professional qualifications.
The Executive MBA programme consists of 8 taught modules (each worth 15 credits) and a 60 credit individual research dissertation. Normally, students study 4 modules in each semester. However, varying rates of study can be arranged.
Semesters are 15 week blocks and there will be an equivalent of a 3-hour class for each module per week.
Students obtaining 60 credits will be eligible for a Postgraduate Certificate in Business Administration, and a Postgraduate Diploma for obtaining 120 credits. The final stage is a dissertation but you may not formally commence this until you have completed the entire classroom instruction stage.
An important element in studying an MBA is the acquisition of skills. You will develop analytical abilities as well as essential managerial skills such as working in teams, leadership and effective communication. An ability to interpret data is also developed through modules such as Financial Management Analysis, Managerial Economics, and Research Methods in Management. By the time you reach the final dissertation, you will be able to apply these to the investigation of a major strategic issue.
The structure of the programme has been created with specific progression in mind and the assessment methods are designed both to reflect and support this aim. Students are assessed via a wide range of methods in order to ensure the development of an extensive range of abilities and skills over the duration of the programme. These methods include management reports, case studies, group activities, presentations, time constrained assessments and a dissertation.
