Postgraduate Foundation Programme
The Postgraduate Foundation Programme is a
one-semester course designed to equip students with the skills and knowledge
necessary to successfully pursue postgraduate studies at the University of
The programme develops students’ academic
English knowledge and skills necessary for successful post-graduate studies in
any UKH course. These include a range of essential competencies in reading,
writing, speaking, and listening. Students also learn core research and critical
thinking skills. Furthermore, students receive instruction in PTE (Academic)
preparation designed to help them achieve a score of at least 50.
Students complete coursework, quizzes,
presentations, and a final exam. Students will take a PTE (Academic) exam for
entry into their chosen programme. Students who do not achieve the required
minimum score will not be able to progress into a postgraduate programme.
1. Minimum undergraduate
score of 70%
2. English language test
(test (administered by the UKH English Language Centre; a level of B1+ on the
Common European Framework of Reference is required for admission).
Applicants dismissed for
any reason from any university, school or college will not be considered.
Please note that acceptance into the foundation programme does not guarantee
entrance into a postgraduate programme.
