Global Entrepreneurship Week (GEW) is the world’s largest campaign to promote entrepreneurship, founded by the Kauffman Foundation in 2008, as part of the Global Entrepreneurship Network initiative. It is an international celebration of innovators and job creators who launch start-ups and bring ideas to life, map out projects for economic growth and human welfare Each year in November.
The GEW is celebrated simultaneously in over 170 countries for one week. During this week, thousands of events and activities inspire people all around the world to engage in entrepreneurial activity.
These activities, from large-scale competitions and events to intimate networking gatherings, connect participants to potential collaborators, mentors and even investors-introducing them to new possibilities and exciting opportunities.
The Future of Technology Entrepreneurship in Kurdistan Region of Iraq (KRI) was discussed by each of Godar Ibrahim, CEO of Awrosoft, Hiwa Afandi, Head of KRG's Department of Information Technology and Shamal Sabah, Deputy Manager (Software Developer) at UKH's IT Department and Entrepreneur, moderated by Bilal Said.
The second panel discussion was moderated by Dr. Heja Sindi, Dean of the School of Business at UKH. Panelists Kamal Muslim, KRG's Minister of Trade and Abdulsalam Medeni, CED at the Rwanga Foundation and Aram Anwar, Dircetor of Youth Project Support Fund discussed Small and Medium Sized Enterprise on the national and global scales.
