University of Kurdistan welcome more than 250 students for the academic year 2019-2020

As an annual tradition, the leading university in the region which has a strong and distinctive reputation, University of Kurdistan held the orientation day to welcome more than 250 new students into its Undergraduate and Post-graduate studies for the academic year 2019-2020. 

The ceremony held in the auditorium began with a speech by the representative of the Chancellor of the University of Kurdistan, Mr. Idris Nechirvan Barzani. Mr. Medeni welcomed the students and wished them successful and enjoyable years to come at the University of Kurdistan. This was followed by inspirational welcoming speeches from Deans, Chairs and Academics to both inform students about what to expect from their chosen programmes and to introduce them to the departments.

Students were given information in regards to the differences between school and entering higher education and were encouraged to disclose their needs and seek appropriate support. Students were advised that adapting to the new unfamiliar environment takes time and they are always welcome.

To integrate the new students into the university life and the campus, the university’s Student Union committee gave a thorough tour around all the departments who are there to support students throughout their study.
