Consul General of India Donates Books to UKH, Meets Vice Chancellor

The Consul General of India paid a visit to the University of Kurdistan Hewler and donated a large number of books on India to the Library.

Mr Chandramouli Kumar Kern, the Consul General, was received by the Vice Chancellor Dr Mohammed Mochtar and Director of International Relations Ms Mamilan Rouf. The Consul General briefed the Vice Chancellor about the activities of the Indian consulate and expresses his country’s willingness to improve the bilateral relations with Kurdistan, especially in the education sector. On his part, the Vice-Chancellor asked the Consul General to help the university in building academic ties with Indian universities.

The Consul General was then received by Ms Lesley Gaj, the Director of Library, who received a large box of book donated by the Consul General. The books are about Indian history, society, government and yoga.

He then gave a seminar to UKH students on study opportunities in India and how to apply to funded scholarships that the Indian government is providing for two thousand international students.
