UKH Receives International Academic Accreditation by ASIC

The University of Kurdistan Hewlêr is pleased to announce that it has received Institutional Accreditation from the United Kingdom-based Accreditation Services for International Schools and Collages (ASIC) organization.

This makes UKH the first university in Kurdistan to meet the highest standards of education on an international level.

The awarding body, ASIC, is an independent international academic body that offers accreditation to universities and other educational organizations following a thorough investigation in to the management and academic requirements that defines the institution to function as a high standard university at an international level.

UKH has now become the first university in both the Kurdistan Region and Iraq to receive this prestigious, international recognition for high standards of education.

This follows other recent UKH achievements, including ranking of the UKH by the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research as the first on the list of all universities in the Kurdistan Region, five awards of Research of the Year by the MoHE, and ISO 9001:2015 for quality management system.

“I am very pleased with UKH being accredited as a Premier university by ASIC,” Vice-Chancellor Dr Mohammed Mochtar announced.

“This recognition marks UKH as a high performing university that meets international standards. We aspire and work to become a leading university in the larger regional area.”

ASIC has awarded UKH the recognition based on the criteria of research, teaching quality, learning environment, graduate employability, internationalization, culture, access, innovation and knowledge transfer, engagement, and environmental impact.
