Dr Andrés de Castro from the School of Social Sciences presented a seminar to international parliamentarians in Morocco in the lead-up to the Adoption of the Global Compact for Migration
Dr Andrés de Castro, Chair of the Politics and International Relations of the University of Kurdistan Hewler, explained the "Challenges and migration dynamics in the Middle East: possible solutions" at the international parliamentary meeting.
The conference is part of the lead-up to the adoption of the Global Compact for Safe, Orderly and Regular Migration organized by the Inter Parliamentary Union (IPU) and the Parliament of the Kingdom of Morocco.
It was held on 6-7 December 2018 in the Moroccan parliament.
The IPU includes 172 member states.
Senator Gabriela Cuevas, President of the IPU, expressed her thanks on behalf of the IPU to Dr. De Castro for his comprehensive presentation on the issue of migration and the solutions he put forward.
The Intergovernmental Conference to Adopt the Global Compact for Safe, Orderly and Regular Migration is to be held on 10–11 December 2018 in Marrakech, Morocco.
