Omeid Rahmani
Researcher
Overview
Omeid has a Ph.D. in Petroleum Engineering from University Technology Malaysia (UTM) and joined UKH as a Researcher in April 2017. Omeid’s contribution leads to publishing articles under UKH affiliation with a cumulative impact factor (CIF) of 74.902 up to February 2021.
Omeid is currently serving as the Academic Editor of PLOS ONE (IF=2.740), Topic Editor of Minerals (IF=2.380), Guest Editor of Special issue in Minerals (IF= 2.380), is a member of the Editor Board of Carbonate & Evaporates (IF=1.415), Guest Editor of Mining (Special Issues and Collections in MDPI journals), and an active reviewer for the Journal of Petroleum Science and Engineering (IF=3.706).
He has also delivered a diverse range of projects in CO2 sequestration by using industrial wastes and natural minerals, enhanced oil recovery (EOR) by adsorption of surfactant and nanoparticles from aqueous solutions in porous media and by ultrasonic simulated water-flooding conducted on a long unconsolidated sand pack. His current projects are (1) wellbore instability as one of the main issues of the petroleum industry and (2) characteristics of Paleozoic Black Shales in Peninsular Malaysia: implications for Oil & Gas exploration.
