The seminar is designed as a co-creation session between the presenter
and the audience on an emerging topic of research in the Kurdistan Region of
Iraq. It is well documented that the KRG is planning major public sector
reforms which includes the transition of a large percentage of the public
sector into private sector employment. Academics and practitioners alike are
unified in the need for the transition, which will reduce the fiscal burden on
the government and aid in the ultimate goal of diversifying the local economy.
Although the agenda for reform has been set, what hasn’t been considered are
the psychosocial aspects to this change.
